Level 6 British Sign Language

This course will be delivered as four separate Learning Outcomes covering a range of assessment criteria and topic-related vocabulary.

Before being accepted into this course, you will need to take part in an online or face-to-face interview to ensure that your current BSL skills are at the required level for this course.

Exams and Assessments for Level 6 will be in the following format:

What you will learn:

Learning Outcome 1 – You will use both receptive and productive skills to engage in all types of complex social interactions.
Learning Outcome 2 – You will use and understand complex language and maintain fluency, grammatical accuracy, and coherence in sustained contributions containing complex language.
Learning Outcome 3 – You will understand sustained signed discourse containing complex language.
Learning Outcome 4 – You will reference sources to confirm or clarify the meaning of signs

Fast Tracking

The most popular way of completing a Level 6 course is through the delivery of a ‘Fast Track’ course with a duration of 3 hours per class over 37 weeks to give candidates the opportunity to complete their training as quickly as possible.

Please note, our Online course is delivered in shorter 2 hour sessions and therefore runs for longer than 37 weeks. Our Online course is delivered via Zoom.

Times

Course Period: 37 weeks (Face-to-Face) or 37+ weeks (Online)

Wednesday Evening Course: 5:00pm – 8:00pm (Begins 11/09/24)

Monday Online Course: 5:00pm – 7:30pm (Begins 09/09/24)

These courses run weekly, following Kent School term times. During half term and holiday breaks, you will not have classes

An initial deposit of £200 will be required to secure your place on the course.

Should you choose to pay for your course by instalments, then a suitable instalment plan will be agreed with a small addition of £40.00 to the course fee to cover the additional administration required to administer a payment plan.
